Read Chapter 1 of my book, "Open Source Church"

I've posted a very rough first draft of my book "Open Source Church: Tapping Into the Wisdom of the Priesthood of All Believers" over on my writing blog.

Please download and read it.  Email it around.  Retweet it.  Share it on Facebook.  The more the better.

Landon, I remembered your working on an open source/ecclesiology book while I was doing some research. I'm looking forward to reading it,but my grad work is preventing me from engaging in much extra reading. The thesis I'm working on is working in the cultural discipline of how the internet, Web 2.0, social networking, etc., are both shaping western culture and the need for an identification of where God is at work both in online culture and how that shapes broader culture. So, I'm intrigued by your book!

Anyway, I'm reading "Here Comes Everybody" by Clay Shirky, and he mentions Eric Raymond who's an open source theorist. Raymond has a theory called "a plausible promise", "which is a message communicated that is big enough to inspire interest, yet achievable to enough to inspire confidence. (Shirky, 18)." Anyway, you may know about Raymond (or Shirky for that matter), but I thought I'd pass it on. I was struck by Raymond's idea, and how it relates to mission and ecclesiology. Perhaps it could be of help!

    Looking forward to your effort...
